Tais was selected as a finalist to compete in the Australian Belly Dance Star Awards in Sydney, which were judged by a panel of four judges including the world-famous Egyptian belly dancer Dina. Tais was honoured to be chosen by Dina as the winner of the "Dina's Choice" Award and then enjoyed two days in intensive training workshops with Dina before returning to New Zealand.
